THE 2006 NATIONAL UFO CONFERENCE

Attila Kaldy
Attila, the president of the UFO Society of Western Sydney, Hosts of the conference, opened the day with the changing perceptions of craft in the sky through history. What did they call them? This set the tone for the day's events with an ever-increasing undertow of the comparisons between gods and the ancient visitor.

Attila presented works from the local group's history including some of the most convincing evidence of interference - even to the investigators themselves. On each year for the past 5 years, expeditions to remote areas and hot spots have taken priority especially where hotspots or incidents have occurred which have seen the local communities more willing to speak to an investigator. The group has even conducted information searches based on a single report only to discover more witnesses existed. The casework existing in The Western Sydney Society's coffers was such that many members of the audience spoke heavily about the shadowy figures during any opportunity for investigators to chat about what they had heard.
These shadowy intrusions into peoples' lives have come to the fore in recent times but are by no means a new thing. They do however cast a different light as to what some of these sightings really are. The possibility of the metaphysical is starting to overlap into the UFO field.
What Attila believes is happening is the ability of entities to astrally project. Rather like a forward reconnaissance effort to a close encounter. Screening is a well-held belief among researchers.
This may well be an extension of such a thing.

Many sightings of objects in the sky and inexplicable glows on the horizon have taken place in the South Western ranges, Blue Mountains and water catchment areas. During an expedition to the Jamison and Burragarong valleys, one of the best-captured images occurred. Not only did the cameras fail at first attempt, but also no other equipment was handed over to the shift on watch! In other words, lethargy had been installed into the minds of all the party, none of whom could believe their own behaviour on video when they first viewed it all! Of all the equipment set for use that night, all of it was packed away but for the single camera in one pair of hands. Larraine Cilia first saw the object and Phillip Ainsworth tried to film it. That was it! When they returned to the main camp, they could not account in their logs for one hour of their shifts! See for yourselves.

Expeditions have occurred where members have been faced with burn offs and other obstacles mysteriously placed in their way. On one occasion, Attila himself was trying to approach and then escape a silhouette outline that to this day, he is convinced was not one of the local fauna!
The group is a heavily equipped research organization with members who have a specific background or expertise to call on in order to make for a complete work. The group has launched the paranormal second division, which is broadening the work of background and base line tests of an area thereby raising the expertise of the group's work to level whereby there are less questionable unknowns.
So in taking on the completeness of paranormal research, of which UFO's is a vast subject matter, the team hopes to rule out more prosaic terms from more reports, more often, no matter the probable cause!

Bill Chalker
Bill presented a wide range of material and by far the most far reaching in the type of research and activity that he has been involved with. Not only has Bill been travelling and publishing, but he has still given time to researching the infamous casework that he has come across over the years. In doing so, Bill has spent a vast number of hours looking over the history of UFO groups along the way. In his presentation, Bill gives a number of image sequences denoting how groups, cases and in part, UFO research history was made.
New England, NSW, is where Bill attended University and where he first heard of a UFO flap which drew him into the subject. Bill became a witness.

UFOIC has a history of 1956 to 2006. The involvement of Bill Chalker to the UFO and USO (submarine) field is vast and with an incredible amount of depth. Witness testimony was brought out of the past, something that I am deeply interested in. many reports were presented in conjunction with the type of work that was going on at t he time.
Involvement with the History Channel was a case of note. Here is a chance to portray Australian cases on the world satellite system and even then, the people you work with have plenty to offer along the way.
Bill's casework goes back as far as the AURA listing, -1868. I still remember seeing the re-creation video as one of my first forays into this subject when searching through Banana TV on the networks.
The Australian Flying Saucer Review was the first publication. According to Bill, the founding father, Edgar Jarrold who first ran AFSR from 1952-1955, disappeared from the community under suspicious circumstances. UFOIC formed from what remained thereafter. Bill presented the list and format of a regular 'who's who' throughout the history of both the authority figures that had interest in the subject and those who were pure enthusiasts and the authorities they had to work with in their day.

The presentation was finalised with the trips that Bill took into Asian territories including abduction experiences similar to the case stories published by Bill in The Hair of the Alien. Many first hand stories of UFO work in China are unlikely to come to hand without this type of commitment.

Bill's entire presentation was a tribute to his thoroughness as an investigator, something for which there is no substitute. We urge you to take every opportunity to correlate information on case histories through UFOIC. Chances are, if it happened in Australia, Bill knows about it.

Dominic McNamara
Dominic's presentation was all about the uncovering of files held by the RAAF as the official reporting agency of the past and how difficult it was to reveal it all to the general public.

It is certainly true that the files could have been accessed for quite a number of years. But the files were accessible only by number and it is surely one of the most intimidating mountains of tedium to be faced with just to have these files opened and available for all to see.
But after three and a half years and over 3000 dollars in expenses, that which was always going to be hard, is now well under way and will continue to be done for what will probably be the term of Dominic's natural life!
As a result of this work, Dominic announced that the National Archives would soon be taking possession of the AURA catalogue and summary CD as the first point of reference for those interested in researching the UFO phenomenon for generations to come.
Some of the examples of file searching and files found give a taste f the kind of treasure trove the archives really hold. Over 1300 reports on incidents over about a 50 year period up to around 1977.

The main thrust of the current day exercise is to the witness location program. During the public announcements on both television and in the press, Dominic was able to both use the press to find witnesses from the files and interview them in the newspaper of their state and find people who had actually worked at the Woomera rocket base in SA on cameras which had apparently filmed craft observing the tests!

The witness interview was extremely enlightening on what it was like to be leaned on by Men in black just two days after the test film was taken. The arduous process of revealing the truth to the public, even in an historical sense, is not without its fantastic reward. Witnesses of this magnitude are people who served a nation, were duty bound to silence and still given harsh treatment by their won government over the things they saw. It is a sobering reminder of the world of 'covering up' in which we live.

Dominic can be contacted for a summary and catalogue listing.

George Simpson
George presented a plethora of new information; too much to recall here. In the late 1990's, a pair of Bendigo witnesses drew a graphic representation of the final view the witness had after the object flew overhead. It was estimated as 2 - 3 times the wingspan of a jumbo low on final approach next to an airport! The object was, however, somewhat see-through. So low was the object that the witness had to run around the property in order to see it as it travelled over the treetops of his home. The subsequent interview with the couple that both stood outside and saw this object was extremely candid. The object was completely silent.
These witnesses, like others, do not seek notoriety, just answers that make sense of what they had seen. The investigative question/statement list was very professional and George has made a good 'fist' of it.

During the conversation, it had become apparent to George that the couple's niece had also had a sighting in more recent times. So George did what any of us would do; he went and got the story on film.

George presented reports from around the Victorian areas including the Coburg area. Sometime in the summer of 1951, a young man riding his bike feels a vibration, like an idling diesel bus panel, through the bike. After checking a few times and not seeing any vehicles on the road, he looked up to his left to see a "pretty darn big craft". It had windows at the front, was silent but a heat or something was taking place at the back. "How big do you think it was", he was asked. An interesting answer came back. "You know the Russian antinov cargo planes? You could have put three antinovs inside that thing". The object headed toward Albion road. In a second, it went from the rooftops, into outer space. Almost straight up!

The recent 40th anniversary of The Westall case took up a large part of investigative life for several researchers in the last few months. Many witnesses came forward that were unable to speak in the past. Researchers had a time of it trying to collate all that they had ever heard with what they were now hearing. People interested should contact George and Bill Chalker respectively as I understand both were present.
George's work highlighted the opportunity for people to come forward and ask for answers. Not having one does not mean that a witness needs be fed the next best solution as per the government agreed method!
George went on to highlight the dangers of working with Current affairs programs, and that we as investigators or ordinary members of the public, have no control over final editing or presentations given by the media. A general wariness of the press and journalism in general cannot be more demonstrative than in George's final images of misrepresentation. It was a good final thought for those of us who take audio-visual representation as seriously as George.

Dianne Harrison
Dianne opened her presentation with respect for aboriginal cultures and the effect of her images to that end. What followed was a set of cases surrounded by the aboriginal pursuit of stories told down through the ages. This has long been thought of as nothing more than a religion shrouded in myth from ancestors long since passed away. Dianne's presentation was to link such things through the eyes of the ancient astronaut hunter and what truth can be found amongst the lore.

Stories of elaborate creatures coming from the surrounding lands, "taking off", creatures that "shot across the sky", beings that were drawn with "big dark eyes" even stories of tribal members disappearing for lengths of time surfaced wherever they travelled and whatever the tribal history.

Commonalities throughout Australian original inhabitants were vast. What must be remembered is that these communities are culturally distinct. They have boundaries that are not crossed simply for the sake of informing each other of the same things over the centuries. Yet Dianne found the same undercurrent throughout. The same images were drawn.
One of their charter flight pilots showed her some circles he'd seen.
Dianne contacted the Alice Springs local government to check on the origins of such things. When she mentioned circles, the reasons given were "soil erosion".

Aerial pictures and satellite images revealed some 86 circles from erosion?

During her travels, Dianne managed to get hold of a letter from one of the witnesses from the Westall School case in Victoria who was among three students at the time given a week's detention for speaking to the press! Aboriginals are not necessarily in communities that are happy to hand over information on things which should only concern the inner circle of their communities to those who are simply seen as 'visitors'. Their only reward for doing so is ridicule, not too dissimilar to our western counterparts!

Dianne went on to present Australian cases in progress with a lady named 'Ronnie'. This is a physical trace case involving medical x-ray data which baffled doctors.
The witness did not complain of pain or anguish, just that there was an object found in the socket of her eye; it was there and that's where it was going to stay.
Doctors named it as 'an artefact' present in all views of the head scan.
Even during question time, it was still considered one of the more telling evidence cases presented on the day.
Dianne is to be encouraged to pursue relations with aboriginal communities where the secular distinction might be broken down enough for us to see more clearly through the haze created by mistrust of the white man, or indeed any stranger, which inhibits our quest for the basis of truth upon which such stories of the dreamtime have been laid.

One of the publications Dianne encouraged her audience to look at concerning Australian paranormal of this kind is titled; Unexplained, by John Pinckney.

Frankh Wilks
What is a UFO?
According to Frankh Wilks, the governments of the world have long since made up their minds as to what most UFO's are or at least, what they most likely will turn out to be.
They just haven't bothered telling us! This is a well-held belief amongst those of us willing to engage in the idea that human co-operation with extraterrestrials has already taken place. However, I was not prepared for what happened next.
Mr Wilks is very interested in exposing the fact that authorities perpetuate the lie and continue to cover up no matter the incident. Whatever is the expedient thing to do, they do it. But I didn't expect to see a documentary video on the September eleventh incident in the United States. I guess what Frankh was showing us is that no matter how high the cost a government will often do that which makes its worldly appearance most favourable for whatever reasons they deem fit.
I guess I was disappointed not to have the same ideas correlated to the UFO phenomenon, but with that, I have to admit that it at least fired up my interest in some of the images that were presented about the infamous attack on US soil.
But that's where it ends.

Frankh Wilks first became involved in UFO work after seeing what he described as a Mother ship. After being involved and billed as a hypnotherapist, the later years of Frankh's life appear to have become embroiled in exposing the fabrication of evidence to convince a public of things that are just not true. I must commend Frankh on his stance, but that was as much of his presentation that concerned the UFO topic. Frankh doesn't like the term UFO. As far as he is concerned, the authorities already know. In Frankh's defence, I am reminded that I once heard someone ask the following question about E.T.'s;"they're here aren't they?" and the response was, "they've been here for a very long time".

Larraine Cilia
Larraine presented the mysteries of the Rendlesham Forest. This presentation was all about the strange goings on at a wooded area that lies between a couple of air force bases. During their most active times, a strange craft appears to have landed/crashed in the vicinity of these woods. 2005 saw the 25th anniversary of this strange event where airmen and security personnel were given a first hand and even physical contact with such an object. The excerpts given on video were quite eye opening in as much as they displayed the research and evidence that has been uncovered. Thereafter, we were privy to the conversation that one Colonel Holt of the US forces on duty that night recorded on a small note taker whilst in the forest.

As if that isn't enough, we were then treated to the strange images that are caught on camera up to the present day. Larraine was fortunate enough to collect many such images whilst actually visiting the forest during a trip to the UK in 2004.

Whilst the events of the forest incident near the air base was carefully investigated by all and sundry, Brenda butler is one of the true permanent investigators of this area including its history.

One of the delights of having a dinner speaker is that it does not have to be given in complete silence. Far from that, Larraine invited the audience to take more conversation and discussion about the images and soundtrack that they had heard and have more informal talks and questions about the whole presentation both during and after dinner. Certainly, the information given by some of the investigators who have examined the circumstances of the airmen incident and the night time images taken by camera would suggest that this place appears to hold some significance or importance down through the ages.
This was one of the questions that were raised during the post presentation debates. Even Mr. Maussan gave rise to the question of attraction the object may have had to the area.

The thread of ancient reasoning was alive right through the day, even until the talks that went on after the dinner presentation itself. Larraine's presentation gave the perfect paranormal end to a perfect UFO day.

Jaime Maussan
Jaime Maussan was the main attraction at this year's conference and lived up to his reputation as a professional journalist who had been drawn into the topic of UFO's over many years of investigative work. During his time as the anchor behind the 60 minutes show in Mexico, Mr. Maussan was then invited to do a special involving the UFO phenomenon. Thereafter, it was painfully obvious that further involvement, although topical for the moment, would be detrimental to his credibility. Even so, Mr. Maussan went on to describe an invitation to appear on a special broadcast until interest in such a show had diminished. The show ran all night! From that moment on, Mr. Maussan became the public face of UFO's in Latin America.

Mr. Maussan opened his image presentation with a video collage picked from hundreds of tapes taken the day of the eclipse in Mexico City. From this one piece alone, it was obvious that the UFO phenomenon of modern times in Mexico is as billed; one of videotape in the hands of many hundreds of people. This type of eclipse happens once every 675 years. Last occurring in 1315. It was the second longest in a century. During this and the mysterious quelling of a volcanic eruption, Jaime's works seemed to bear out that there is a correlation between natural occurrences and their avoidance and the presence, or indeed interference from, UFO's.
Mr. Maussan went on to present the bottom line thread that joined most presentations on this day. The apocalyptic prophecies of ancient lands.

Most video evidence needs to be seen first hand and I urge you to obtain the DVD of these presentations in order to evaluate for yourselves. Needless to say, they will cause much controversy.
Mr. Maussan's correlations go on still further. He posits that there are signs on the ground and signs in the sky. Upon the ground are they crop circles and the like and in the air, they are signs made by small discs flying in formations. At one point, the audience is aghast at what they see and Jaime pronounces "I believe something is going to happen, soon." See for yourself.

On October 3rd 2005, a security camera in Mexico caught some startling images of what might be the first known recording of a 'hole' in the sky. These cameras are so unusual in their makeup, they are almost unique.

Crop circle upon crop circle was displayed in poetic symmetry. Mr Maussan's message was quite clear.
Signs are not to be taken as subjective, but rather as something to be deciphered. Rather like hiding information in plain sight. Gaussian filters were used to reveal sublime data in the figures cut into a crop near the radio telescope in Mexico between 2001 and on the same day in 2002 on a new image circle. There were 73 lines in 23 columns of data cut in the images.
Carl Sagan and Frank Drake transmitted a message on November 16 1974 73 lines and 23 columns.

August 15, 2002, a binary code disc image appeared. In fact, the mathematical data that was presented from that moment on, was fascinating to say the least. So much that it will take me a while just to go through it all.
Then came the strange video case of the boys playing football in a dark alley. Remember those who would call it a hoax and have their stories printed in newspapers? Not the boys themselves. There has been a retraction of many editors over the reports made at a later date! Mr. Maussan still considers it the most important of all E.T. contact style videos.
There was a story of a couple in Milan. They collectively have some 40 or so videos. One was selected. In this case, they were of both day and night imaging and the clarity was high. Once again, you need to see for yourself.
